Charlie Bucket List

A list of things, experiences, adventures that we want to tick off before we get called up into the great gig in the sky.  They are not in any particular order, nor do we expect to get them all done, but you gotta have goals, right?

  1. Ride up Mont Ventoux.  The legendary mountain is visible from my parent’s house in Provence, so this is a dream that should be fully attainable one day.  Of course, the idea is that we complete it together as Charlie Bucket Cycles, so we’ll need to arrange a group trip out to the south of France and snag my parent’s house for a week or so.  The mountain beckons!
  2. Climb Mount Washington.  Yup, I’m talking about the highest peak in the north eastern United States here, all 1,917 m of it.  Located in New Hampshire this is quite doable from Montreal, and by that I mean we don’t have to save a fortune and take weeks off work to accomplish this one.  In fact, I have a sneaking suspicion that having done it once, we are going to want to do it again, and again….

Both of these are on my bucket lists as well. Considered doing Washington next year until making plans in France. I hear it is a brutally rewarding climb.

You can only climb it once per year (their rules) and it has to be during the appointed weekend that they hold this massive organized event. Apparently you have to register very early as spots are limited and the event has become quite the draw! One year I’ll do it.
